Increasing FOC FMJ 5mm Arrow

Is there any way to increase the FOC on a FMJ 5mm arrow after inserts have already been installed (other than using heavier broadhead)? Thanks!

Lighter fletching (smaller, feathers, etc). Ditch the wrap if you have them. Or, if the inserts were installed with superglue you can screw in a field point and CAREFULLY heat it with a torch then pull the whole thing out. I've done this more than a few times with test arrows, ruined a full carbon shaft cuz I got it too hot, but it is possible. Carbon acts like a heat sink so once it gets hot it stays that way for longer, it doesn't cool quickly enough so repeated heatings just get it hotter until cracks form. The key, I found, was to heat the field point enough to get the insert to twist then I kept twisting it until it came out. Again, I've only done this to test arrows and I'm not sure how detrimental it would be to hunting shafts that be subject to impact on a shoulder or rib. Might be worth a shot though on an FMJ.

slip another insert in from the noc side down with a coat hanger. you will have 2 inserts back to back.

what were the inserts glued in with? You may be able to remove them with a drill bit used as a slide hammer. Google it.

Use a section of weed eater cord, cut it to length for the weight you want. Then double it up so it tight and push it down from the knock end with a rod.

Thanks for the help guys! N2TRKYS, my FOC is about 7.5%. Would like to get it a little closer to 9-10% for better flight and penetration.

in my injexions I put 3 stainless inserts in for 15% foc. take a stainless insert, dab of epoxy on the end and push it in from the nock end with a stiff piece of wire. the insert will fit tight in there, may not even need glue. awesome arrows btw, I ended with injexions because I got great foc at 484gr

IF the inner ID of the arrow is .166 you can use Victory 95gr stainless steel inserts. I just made up some VAP 350's with them on there and WOW talk about FOC and they hit like a brick. Fly great.
