I'm thinking of purchasing a Nordictrack X22i incline trainer. Does anyone have experience with these?

I just got one and have been using it for almost 2 months now. I've mainly just used the incline feature with a weighted pack, although the iFit does offer quite a variety of runs/hikes/walks. Let me know any specific questions you have.

I have the x11 model and so far I really like it. You incline it to 40 degrees and it’s a beast. I’m looking forward to loading up my pack and working on it. It’s the only model that I know of that goes past 15 degrees incline.

Whats your guys opinion on these? Will they put up with years of abuse of pack training and such. Ive seen them but never tried on. I have been seriously considering one. But for the price hate to jump on so.ething that wasnt durable. Just curious as to your thoughts.

I have had the Nordictrak x9i for 3 or 4 years and it has held up great...between my wife and I it gets used nearly every day. We have used it for everything from weighted pack rucks at incline (haven't really taken it past 26 degree incline) to simple incline hikes and level runs. If/when it craps out, will definitely get another.

I had one of their old models for more then 10 years. The belt finally started slipping last year. Probably could have tightened it but it wasn't getting much use anymore.
Heck, thinking about it, maybe 15 years. How long have they been making them?
I was very happy with it. I hope the quality hasn't changed.

Our 15 y/o Nordictrak just bit the dust and we went with the Sole F63. The top rated treadmill around $1000.

Great piece of equip. It isn't a 40* incline, 15* is enough for us.

We have been thinking about picking one up soon. There aren't any places around here to hike hills and I think an inclining treadmill will give a better workout than a stairmaster. Glad to hear there are folks that like them.

Seriously, with all the nonsense I see and hear about being a mountain athlete by doing dumbass shit like high level gymnastics and Olympic style weightlifting, the fact that people don’t talk more about these is mind blowing.

I have a Proform (model 1310E, I think) that I bought in 2016 (or early 2017 maybe). It has iFit which I try to use two or three times a week. I pick from the library of hikes around the world. Though it's really nice/beneficial for me - living in flat land - there's no substitute for actually being on a real trail, of course. I feel like its a valuable tool for me and hope I'm not disappointed in my performance when I get out in the real world.

Well, I haven't yet used mine with a pack (changing soon) on but mine has held up to a few years of abuse by my fat ass. That's a pretty good testament.

If you use it with a weighted pack and wear boots you're going to wear the walk belt quicker than if you wear tennis shoes on it. On any of the treadmills don't stand on the walk belt and hit start, stand on the side rails and hit start and let the belt start moving before stepping on to it. Standing on the walk belt and hitting start will stretch the drive belt much quicker than letting it start moving first. Basic hardware is the same on most of the incline trainers from Nordictrack, consoles and programming is the major difference between them and contributes to the different costs. For those who don't know, I've been a Nordictrack service tech for about 5 and a half years, I've serviced hundreds of incline trainers so I have a pretty good handle on them. Boots can also damage the surface of your walk deck over time, I've replaced several of those for that reason. Depending on how much you use your machine make sure you are lubricating the walk belt at least every 6 months for frequent users. They are still good machines but the quality has gone down from when they were made in Utah. The majority of their equipment except for the Freemotion line is imported from China. Parts may or may not be in stock right now, they sent us a memo a month or so ago that some parts will be 3-5 months before being back in stock. If anyone has any specific questions feel free to ask.

Sole makes a fine treadmill. I service those as well. If you ever call in for service they are headquartered out of Arkansas. Easy to deal with.

FWIW Icon Fitness is the parent company for Nordictrack. Nordictrack, ProForm, Freemotion, Reebok, Weslo, and Gold's Gym are all Icon brands. They also were the founders of Altra shoes before they spun the brand off a couple of years ago to the investment firm that owns The North Face and several other companies.
