I’m guessing I’m not alone. Getting hard to focus at work. Can’t hardly sleep. Going through my pack and gear like I’m 13 and headed to a camp out with pack of smokes ya lifted off the old man and a playboy.

15 days is my countdown. What’s yours?

Hitting the road in 19 hours. Gear staged by the door. Sometime in the last decade or two opening morning became more exciting than Christmas.

Haha I'm almost two months out from my first hunt of the year, haven't bought my tag yet, but I pulled everything out of the storage bins, weighed it and loaded the pack up. Now what to do for the next two months?

I'm the kid that never peaked at my Christmas presents, and could easily leave them under the tree until the next year or beyond. So, I'm good waiting for the season to start. Although I did change the oil and transmission and transfer case fluids in the rigs yesterday, as that was probably past due. Beyond that, I'm ready to go........whenever I decide to load up and take off.

Leaving the 12th. Gotta wait on one of the guys. Hes a vet and has to work a salebarn or we would leave on the 10th.

Doesn't make any difference the closer comes too soon.

Exactly 2 weeks from today from being in the field and hunting. Just received the final item needed for my 9 day hunt from First Lite about an hour ago. Pumped

3 days and a wake up, gear is loaded, pack is loaded, coolers are clean it's all stacked up in the garage except my bow which I am still shooting every day, then it's 15 hours solo to Wisconsin and another 18 or so with my buddy hope to be hunting on the 1st and get in at least 14 days unless we are tagged out, killing the first legal elk I can.

“And a wake up” That’s how I used to count down the days in the Marine Corps. 3 and a wake up is so much easier to deal with than 4.

12 days to go until I leave. I finished up all the shopping and packing up of food yesterday. We are set for 5 days of spike or bivy camping if need be as well as basecamping. We plan on staying until the end of the season if need be. Only thing left to do is buy the perishable items the morning of our departure and we are gone. I'm extremely excited. Good luck and God Bless you all.

Leaving early AM tomorrow from TX for an above timberline rifle mule deer hunt in Colorado. Season doesn't start till Saturday but hoping to maybe find a good-un early.

Is there a cooler feeling than looking at all your packed bags and cleared off checklists, and waiting for tomorrows departure? (Yes, standing over your quarry is awesome). Cant freaking wait!!
