Anyone played with either of these? Both seem to be pretty temp stable and appears to be easier to find than H1000 while also giving a bit more speed. With h1000 so hard to get a hold of, I am needing to find a backup option and thinking this could be it... Would be shooting 150-162 class bullets.

7977 is a good replacement for H1000. 8133 is more in line with retumbo. I'd definitely look at 4831 burn rate powders for 150s, 7977 might be a bit on the slow side for them.

I have been using H4831SC in my 7 mag with great results. There always seems to be some on the shelf and it is a versatile powder.

I tried 8133 with 140 Etips in my 7mmRem. I ended up with case full and very compressed loads right off the bat. Like extremely audible crunch when seating a bullet. I know copper bullets are longer but dang I would have needed a drop tube to make it work to get to even close to max load. Shots showed high pressure early on in a rifle that usually likes the edge of max.

I think 7977 may be a better option.

Had to take my 7 mag out yesterday because I changed scope rings and my first two shots were on the left side of the target. Moved my scope up 1 MOA and right 4 MOA and the next three shots were nearly perfect at 100 yards. It was also a very windy day and I was rushing shots between gusts of wind. I am shooting the 155 grain Terminal ascent with 72.5 grains of IMR 8133 out of ADG brass. I personally like the powder and have had good luck so far. I say it's definitely worth trying in you own rifle. IMG_3552.jpg
