This is the same co that released $4k LRF's at Shot this year and of course "they're the best on the market" (by no measurable data points). They're marketing is getting disconnected from their product and customer base.Would be shocked if Leupold ever came out with a pair. Last time I spoke to one of their reps at event, they dismissed it as 40 year old technology that they implemented decades ago. I think they were miffed that the Sig tent just one row over was booming.
Everyone’s mentioned the brands I’m immediately aware of. These binos have real use cases for star gazers and bird watchers too (they’re not snobs about glass quality) so you could find some other fringe options there. I think Swaro’s approach to the spotter is telling. Sig has the market for the binos and I don’t think anyone has found a way to make the tech work with great glass quality. So Swaro is hoping to get the spotter market for now. I don’t believe anyone is impressed with the spotter’s glass quality so if another brand releases one it probably will contend.
THIS. As @Ryan Avery stated on a podcast earlier this year - the end game is an LRF/IS combo that can gauge antler size for you.I feel like if they didn’t try to contend they could be out of the bino game pretty quickly. If I was one of the bigger players in optics, I’d be dumping all my money in to getting my own product together. IS binos seem like the future.

Stability over glass quality seems to be the current way of the future. Simply finding game vs complete clarity is the trade-off name of the game for the next several years I'd bet.
My suspicion is SIG's new product this summer will be the first attempt at the LRF/IS. Again, I have NO factual basis for this hunch. I'm just a guy that can hope.Yeah, I think in the long game that combo is the ideal set up. Heard that one might be further out though.
The idea of judging antler size… never heard that before, but how cool would that be!
Gave you a range like 160-170. 120-130. Kinda seems possible.
