How are you integrating Image stabilized binoculars into your system?

I checked out some 10x and 12x today for the first time and I agree those 12s are difficult even with the rest, at least from the standing position. The store was out of stock of 8s so I want to find a pair of those to check out before pulling the trigger. Are you able to glass a decent distance with the 8s or is the max effective range a lot closer in?

It really depends on the scenario, on an antelope hunt last fall I could glass up goats 2-3 miles away and couldn’t even see them with my spotter from the heat waves. You can see a lot all the way to the edge of the huge FOV so you can pick up more on a tripod over a lot of 10’s. I will not go back to 10’s, I love my 8’s and I’m using 8x32’s.

As far as effective range when I’m shed hunting there are times when i need the 14’s to find a tine vs the 8’s due to the size and distance. I’ve also found way more with the 14’s and 8’s than a spotter due to the small FOV. Overall I love the 8’s, if I could only have one piece of glass I would get rid of everthing except my 8’s.

Is the main difference between 8x32 vs 8x42 just going to be weight savings and condensed glassing time near sunset due to the smaller objective size?

I can see later than I can see with my naked eyes with the 32’s. I didn’t really compare them to the 42’s I wanted the smaller lighter binos since I know I’m often going to be carrying them with my 14’s and spotter.

FOV is only 27’ difference at 1K than the NL 42’s and more than most other companies 42’s. They have 450’ @ 1000yrds and the SLC 8x42 has 408’
