I have read pros and cons for a year and looked at each manufacturer's web sites at least 47,000 times...I wanted a new "later" season system for Hunting in Colorado/Wyoming/Idaho Oct thru December... Many times will be on horseback so the weight issue isn't always priority but if on my back the lightweight will be appreciated...

I ended up going with Enlightened Equipment and went with the 0 degree Rev X, the reviews were always good and the price was very competitive (a freakin bargain actually)...the fact the owner posted on here also played a role in my decision especially after seeing how he conducts himself and treats others and I can't say I've seen anyone post as much as a mild complaint. I went lower just because I've always had bags that compromised some warmth for weight but I just wanted a cozy night under the stars...not a 2 am fetal ball wake up just to save weight...btw I'm almost 40 so I'm getting comfortable more often as a priority.

Now I will say that the new 2014 stuff is out today and it looks like I may have just gotten one of the last...the newer stuff looks great too!

Thanks for all the great info on this forum as it was clearly from folks who have USED their gear...

Awesome pick up. I love my 30* Rev X. I camped until early October with mine. I too am looking at a 0* quilt now. Much lighter than a bag counterpart, and more comfortable to boot.

Just can't decide if the waterproof down is worth the significant price hike or not.

It's worth it. I have several dri-down, down-tek and quix down items and its night and day difference from regular down if it gets a little wet.

I am pretty sure you'll love your new quilt. I've never used EE quilts, I only own hammockgear quilts personally. But I doubt I will ever go back to a full sleeping bag. I find I much prefer a quilt . In fact just this past Friday I was out in my hammock and quilts at -21F. Slept toasty warm with my -10f quilts and a car sunshade reflector thingy under me as a thin pad as well.

Ordered Jan. 3rd...opened it today Jan. 10th....Pleased is an understatement. I'll use it as soon as I can get away....

your going to love it. i have the 20* rev X ( you may have seen my review on here) going to be getting anther one of EE's quilts this year and have a new review in mind for it. going to be using it a little differently and really try and put it to the test for this seasons review. i cant wait. come on spring scouting

I was on the EE site. I hear a lot of good reviews about the rev x. Where is it on the site? I see the revaluation and rev pro. Quilts r new to me so I may be just an idiot but any help would be great. Thanks!

The Rev X was the old model/style. It was just a different variation on the internal baffling.

New design uses tubes.

Old Rev X used more of an X pattern

I have pretty much the same question. My only guess is the x is for the extra wide quilt.

No problem. Actually, I cannot find them off hand, but I believe there is a thread or two on here where Tim discusses the change to the new design and the motivating factors behind it.

Nope. The revaluation x was a quilt Tim made out of " seconds" sil material or material with cosmetic defects. There was also always a revaluation that was made from sil material with no cosmetic defects. Tim got the material at a better cost due to the cosmetics and passed the savings on in The rev x. It was discontinued last year when the design of all his quilts was overhauled. I think now he offers the option of 750 duck down as a savings opportunity in his quilts as opposed to the seconds material. Regardless EE is still the best value in quilts out there IMO

One more question...I'm planning on using this for archery and possibly rifle season. So could be down around 20*. Which rating would be best to go with and what is the difference between the duck/goose down?

As far as temp ratings go, that is a personal preference. I have a 30* and a 10*. I would probably take my 30* and just wear base layers and other stuff if it got down in the low 20's. If I was expecting consistent temps below freezing and into the teens then I would probably take the 10*.

Hey guys,

You should find the rating to be the low comfort limit for most males

The RevX used lower quality fabric and was offered in a few down types over the two years we offered it.

The Enigma and Revelation in 750 fill have replaced the RevX using much higher quality fabric, weighing less but still costing the same.
