If you had to drop 30lbs and couldn’t workout???

That is not helpful at all.

Sure go ahead make fun of overweight people, call them weak minded etc. It won’t change the situation.

Constructive advice and encouragement always gets better results than derogatory comparisons and shameing.

I did warn about the “holier than thou” purist who will disdain the “cheating” too easy way to rapid weightloss.
Are you sure it's not helpful? It's extremely helpful if taken. I think that perhaps what you see as chiding Is nothing more than the surest means of achieving a desirable outcome. Hand wringing and side stepping the obvious might make the sayer feel better about himself but, in most cases, only delays and avoids. All drugs have side effects and the doctors who recommend them can only regurgitate the latest data about them. It's the patient who pays the price. You are far better off taking responsibility for your own general health. Losing weight "is" simple and cost effective and if you're overweight, it's smart too. Jenny Craig and the local pill pusher need income to pay their bills too and they're more than happy to lead you on for years but if a good result is what you're after, just take matters into your own hands like you've been doing your whole life. Baby talk is for babies. People can handle the truth.

“Big Ass Yo Face Soup”

Sarcastic amount of vegetables + premade soup base = 150 calories or less. Add some meat for protein if you want. You’ll be stuffed.

Calories in < calories burned = weight loss.

Without writing a novel here the Dr wants me to loose 30 lbs before June 17th.

I had a L4-L5 spinal fusion September ‘22. Follow up microdicectomy May of ‘23. Since then things got somewhat better but never even close to feeling good or pain free. The past 8 months or so things have gotten progressively worse. I’ve done hundreds of PT sessions, injections, spinal decompression, etc… You name it I’ve tried it. My disk below the fusion has ruptured and is not only out but out and down. I am scheduled for an L5-S1 fusion. Since they have to tie in to the existing fusion this surgery is higher risk and they will operate from the front on the 17th then from the back on the 19th. Pretty pissed about this whole thing but I have no choice because I can’t walk for more than a few feet. It’s constant shooting pain from my back into my left calf.

Anyway if you were told to drop 30lbs what would you do? For reference I started 6’2” 251lbs last week when I got the Drs orders. Was 283 4 years ago. Did a 3 day fast this past weekend and am at 244 now. My plan is a mix of fasting and carnivore but looking for ideas. Keep in mind any cardio or major lifting is out of the question .
I’d fast 18/6, lots of espresso and soda waters. I’d eat only what calories I really needed. 3 days can be mainly water weight. June is easy for 30lbs just don’t eat. A good multivitamin would be a good idea. Your body has plenty to burn on your body already, just don’t eat, like you’re cutting for wrestling. Barely eat. Gotta get to the pool if possible. Need that movement.

Definitely research cold and heat therapy. I don’t have access to a sauna, but when in need of a good sweat I’ll shut the bathroom door, fill the tub with scorching hot water, place a small heater in there to warmup the room quicker (obviously away from the tub), let the water cooldown enough to get in, and sit in the tub for 15 minutes. Talk about sweating! Sweating out some toxins doesn’t hurt. Cold water therapy has multiple benefits as well. Water therapy may even alleviate some pain with your back. Also, if you consume alcohol, definitely avoid it while trying to lose weight. I’ll mix lemon juice in water and avoid sugary drinks.

It’s sometimes mentioned in terms of eating more small meals, but for me keeping the stomach from getting filled with food or water in big peaks helps hunger a lot.

I ate more small meals and it helped a little. It made as much if not more of a difference drinking water a cup at a time instead of a pint (red solo cup) less often. Water is important, just avoid big peaks.
