If you could "build" your "do all" lower 48 hunting rifle......

I’m building it now, except next I’m doing a 338 to Be even better

Cartridge - 300 nmi
Action - defiance Ruckus ultra lite skelo full rail
Barrel - 22” proof 1:9”
Trigger - trigger texh
Scope - ZCO
Rings - hawkins
Suppressor - deadair nomax 33
Stock - manners eh1

Going to probably do a 338 reaper next and those two should be perfect

Had mine built summer 2024. I plan to tweak the scope and suppressor, haven't had any issues with either one, i just want to see if there can be improvement. If i had no budget, I'd probably go really nuts with the scope (i try not to let my mind go there) and get a Manners PPFA stock.

It has already dne very well on deer sized game. I hope to shoot an elk with it this year

This is what I built:
- 7mm PRC
- Defiance Anti X nitrided and replaced hollow bolt handle with solid
- Bartlein CF 22" 1:8 M24/M40
- Trigger Tech 2 Stage Special Curved
- Zeiss V4 6-24 but a NF NX6 is attractive
- Ruff's Bubble rings
- TBAC Ultra 7, a Magnus S-RR is in my future. I wonder how an Ultra 7RR would fair...
- Manners LRH
- Hawkins BDL Hinged Floorplate
- Atlas PST BT47-LW17

I built mine but it’s got a 300prc barrel on it currently
-7prc
-Defiance anti x
-Proof senduro 22” 1-8
-Leupold mark 5 5-25 pr1 “drop tested and proved” lol
-Triggertech diamond flat 2 stage trigger
-Um premier rings
-Um reaper can
-Xlr chassis la
-triple pull mdt bipod
-Xlr mags

If proof made a 6.5 wby rpm prefit that’s a good choice too for caliber.

As the title says, money isn't an option here, if you could build a "do all" hunting rifle (pronghorn, deer, elk, moose, black bear, etc) what are you building?

- Cartridge
- Action
- Barrel/specs of barrel
- Trigger
- Scope
- Mount/rings
- Suppressor/brake/bare muzzle
- Stock
- Bottom Metal

I'm really interested in seeing what people say.

30-06: 150 TTSX, 165 AB, and 178 ELD-X
Terminus Zeus QC
18” + TBAC Ultra7
22” + Brake
TriggerTech Diamond
Nightforce NX8 4-32x50
Nightforce Rings
McMillan Hunter’s Edge Sporter
BDL bottom metal

But, that’s this week. Next week it might be something else.

I can't really choose just one, because for most applications I prefer a vertical grip I also hunt deer on the ground and I can't stand the vertical grip when holding the rifle in the ready carry for hours.

if pressed for just one, here is what I choose..

Defiance ANTI XM
XM BDL bottom metal 3.2 COAL
22" proof Carbon
B n A trigger
7mm SAUM 160LRX or 17 ELDX
McMillian Game warden 2.0
NXS 2.5-10x42 in seekins low rings

160LRX or 17 ELDX over RL 26 (I would happily try the 170 Terminal Ascent if they released as a component)

Sadly no can for me (live in CT and hunt every year in Canada)

Weatherby Super Big Game Master 30-06, Custom 19" Bartlein barrel with muzzle break by Weaver Custom Rifles, Nightforce 2.5 -10 X 42mm, Hawkins rings and base, Spartan adaptors bipods and tripods. 5 Round magazine, easy to carry, balances well and shoots great.

Honestly, buy an Xbolt or T3X in whatever cartridge you fancy, toss a Trijicon o top, and go to work.

Custom rifles are mental and financial masturbation. You'll spend 400% as much money for 5% increase in performance.

I actually already own two:

Remington Model Seven SS in 7-08 with 20” factory barrel and McMillan edge fill stock. SWFA 6x scope.

Remington Model Seven SS in 7 SAUM with 22” factory barrel and B & C stock. SWFA 3-15x42 scope.
