Honestly this is Rokslide of coarse everybody is going to say 22 cm. From a guy with lots of experience 204 Ruger will be more durable friendly with the same knockdown power as your 223. 22-250, 22 cm, and 220 swift will kill them more dead but you better be willing to sew. I guess if I had to suggest one that might do it at the yardages you described lets get funky and go 6mm arc.

Factory ammo I would go 22/250. Reloading would go 22 cm. I have a 22-250 for my thermal rig (tikka 14 tw). I do shoot 50 grain blitzkings (handloads) and I love that bullet. I’ve had one badly damaged pelt with a sample size of about 70 and it was a gut shot. I sold my 204 Ruger as I had bad luck with pelts and 40 vmax.

For that range I’d not worry about heavy high BC bullets for yotes. 243 (I’d Ackley, but standard is fine) with 58gr VMAX is a lazer.

Ya I won’t pay that for ammo

I do think the 22creed is a good option. I’ve ran several types of 22-250 factory ammo out of my 8twist 22creed with no issues. Brass comes out formed and .001” shorter than 22creed brass. Gives you the ability to run cheap 22/250 ammo or run 22creed ammo

If you do start hand loading seems like the guys on predator masters forum who kill piles of coyotes use the 52SMK’s, 52berger hp, and 52gr hp Speers as fur friendly options. From the pics they post on center hits only have an entry hole with no exit. Although I’m not worried about fur so I have not tried any of those bullets personally.

I'm one of them, the 52 Berger Match at 3550 is a fantastic bullet for coyotes.
