If it were not for bad luck, I'd have none at all

The same day the Colorado Wildlife tag book came in the mail, so did the Dr report on a MRI I recently had done in Pueblo on my neck.
Medicare summed it all up when I talked to them, "You will need to purchase additional insurance because the 20% Copay you will be responsible for on any procedure done by a neurosurgeon will be very high"

C3,4,5,6,T1,T2 all have bad disc, this aint going to be very much fun.
Plus I am having to go to Kansas City to have surgery done where I have my daughter to help me post surgery.

All the heavy snow in Gunnison basin pushed some nice looking bulls into Saguache county this winter, I hope some of them stick around.

A 6 level cervical and thoracic discectomy and possible fusion is no joke. if you end up fused that many levels you will have absolutely no lateral rotation of your neck. Did you hurt your neck traumatically? What types of symptoms are you having? That is horrible news man.

And I have been wining about the Ulnar never Transposition surgery I recently had. Yuck.

Tough news. Keeping connected to hunting and other passions will be "huuuuuuge" factors in your recovery. Keep us posted, I'm rooting for you.

Sorry to hear this one! As JigStick said, with that many levels it's serious. With experience on this subject, best I can say is get a Dr. you can trust and follow his instructions to a T and you'll be back chasing bulls quickly. The physical therapy afterwards may seem ridiculous, but will pay off big in the end too.

Yep, I just had my appt with the neurosurgeon last Wed. It comes down to surgery.........or not surgery. Just depends on how much I want to put up with. For me it's C4/5, C5/6, and C6/7. I think carrying my bull out last season on my neck and shoulders did me in. I already had disc issues and left side stuff going on for years, but there's new herniations and right side stuff now.......pain, numbness in my thumb and two fingers, and weakness in that arm.

I'm going to suck it up for now and see how it goes after shooting some 3D. But for now, I'm passing on the surgery.

Good luck with whatever you choose. Can't imagine fusing that many levels.
