So I spent a couple days in the rain last week with very wet and cold feet and am on the hunt for a new pair of boots. I currently own several pairs of Crispis (Thor Gen2, Dakota, Briksdahl Gen1) and the fit and feel is fantastic on all of them. All of these boots are GoreTex and all of them have a non-waterproof tongue (don't even get me started on the logic of that). Never had any issues with wet feet before but it has nearly always been dry for my archery hunts. Even with properly worn Gaiters, my feet were wet this season...the issue comes not from getting rained on but hiking in wet vegetation...eventually wicking water makes it to the tongue of the boot and things go down hill quickly.
My options as I see them are to select a one piece construction leather boot that includes a leather tongue, or find one with full GoreTex liner including the tongue even if its synthetic. I am aware of the challenges of gore tex liners breaking down over time and also have reasonable expectations that my feet will occasionally be damp/wet in very wet conditions...but what I experienced this season was rapid and repeated wetting beyond what one would expect from a GoreTex boot.
Anyone have any recommendations on boots they love with a reputation for consistently staying dry inside when its wet outside? . My feet run narrow with a high arch...Crispis have consistently fit fantastic out of the box with a high volume insert. These are going to be primarily used for archery hunts...not currently considering a full 10" boot or boots with a full Mountaineering build. Weight will be a factor in my decision so probably Mtn Extremes aren't in the cards. Definitely will look at mid-high models.

Hanwag Alaska (seem heavy, mixed reviews on support/warranty)
Crispi Nevada Legend ( I believe this has one piece construction with leather tongue?)

Unless it's explicitly called out in product description or in a review, it's hard to tell what has full leather under laces and what doesn't. What am I missing and what do you love?
