I have hunted 10a for over 20 yrs and have taken some great animals consistantly. The wolves changed the dynamic of the elk as they don't talk as much, however when the rut kicks in they will SCREAM. Honestly, I rely on the atv traffic and other hunters. Every yr the elk respond to the pressure by going into pockets to hide. The benefit and demise of this unit is that there are roads everywhere. Hit roads and hike till you are seeing track. Then go up or down a road to survey if the amount of track increases. MANY yrs if I don't find track on the skid road I am on I will drop or gain a road and boom, elk everywhere. The logging has been the largest effect on the elk IMO lately. Also remember if you are hunting timber land you must get a permit and most roads are closed to motorized traffic. Good luck.
