I’m looking to do a rifle bull elk/deer hunt in 2025. This would be my first western hunt and would like to go with a guide. I have done some research and so far these are the outfitters I am thinking about reaching out to Cayuse outfitting, little wood river outfitters, middle fork outfitters. Anyone have any experience with these outfitters?

Anyone recommend another outfitter in Idaho with outfitter tags?

TIA

Cayuse had some success this year on the elk front. Ran into some of their clients headed back home with a decent bull in their truck. Dan has a tough area to hunt in, but in my opinion that’s the most solid outfit in unit 10 as far as elk goes. There’s a decent mule deer population out there too. Saw 80/20 mule to white tail ratio and I have been in unit 10 195 days this year.

I’m hoping those guys that ran into me chime in here as they seemed fairly happy!

I used to guide for Sun Valley Outfitters. They run a really good operation.

They are expensive but you pay for what you get.

If you have any questions PM me and I’ll try and give you the best advice I can.

PIggy backing off this thread. Looking for outfitter for spike camp in Middle Fork Unit, Elk 2025. Reached out to a few with no response. Any ideas?

Jr, we used middle fork outfitters for spike camp in 2021. Overall we were pretty happy. Good comms, spike camp was great, Elk in the area, we just couldn't close the deal in time....our fault. The group they were guiding deeper in Salmon unit went 3-5 if i remember. We our waiting to hear from them about middle fork.
