If you’re an Idaho hunter, reach out to your local reps to let them know your concerns.

This would screw archery antelope hunters and others.

Maybe law enforcement agencies got sick of hunters crying to them about blinds being used by other hunters, stolen, set up on water holes months before season, etc.?
After you said this I could believe that. Especially with the amount of comments/complaints of how aggressive archery season is down there.

I'm going to be going into some research of Jerald. Just see about his past.

This should tell you all you need to know..

I would fully support this. I would hope my home state would adopt something like this. No one should be hunting water tanks at all IMO. Even if you think it is fair chase, other wildlife uses those water sources. Not to mention it stinks up the tank and game animals will either go to another source or go completely nocturnal if they do continue to use the tank. I don’t think trail cams should be used on public lands either. Some of those larger tanks on the NF look like a White House press conference!

Got it, good with public land restrictions on hunting sponsored by the ranchers and not f and g.

We don’t have the same problems with cameras here that there are in NM, and besides antelope hunting water blinds isn’t nearly as popular as it is in nm.

This same legislator has also put forth proposals to limit camping on state lands and other restrictions to favor the cattle industry over other users of public lands.

I don't think any permanently constructed blinds should be allowed on public lands. I am pretty sure that in some states I have hunted any stand must be removed daily. "Temporary" blinds that I have seen, including tree stands, have a tendency to not be temporary.

I did express my views on the subject, I am for it.

Permanents are banned by both the fs and blm already.

Haha you so full of shit. I have been at a tank where a goat was killed and the next day they were back on that tank like nothing happened. We will adopt no such stupidity

Reading the link you shared, then looking into his past voting history. He only cares about ranchers. If folks cant use watering holes on public land, thats paid by the public, then thats a problem. Grazing rights doest make the public land become yours.

Unfortunately... on this issue, I think IDFG kind of set the stage with their failure to be proactive about it... its been years of people complaining about misuse of blinds on blm, putting blinds in too early, threatening other hunters who put blinds on the same trough, conflicts from hunters using other's blinds, diverting water, cutting irrigation lines to create new water seeps, etc. When I've asked IDFG about it in the past, they say they get lots of calls about conflicts... but If you call to report someone placing a blind early or something, idfg just says... bummer, it's BLM's problem... but when there is only one BLM LEO to cover an area equivalent to two or three entire elk zones... that doesn't do much good. IDFG should have started regulating the practice fairly years ago IMO.

Keep electing cattlemen to office and this is what you are going to get.

I was thinking, this is how we get folks in office who will eventually be fine selling off public lands if they know they can buy it too.

Don’t kid yourself, they’d sell it in a heart beat.

One my biggest gripes in the last 10-12 years is folks who just blindly vote for their party and not research the person they're actually voting for. This is how we get special interest folks into office.

Guides take their clients to water because it’s easy money. The bill isn’t about just Pronghorn. You do you on private lands….not my public lands okay?

Are you that dumb that you think everything is an absolute?

Your hatred for ranchers shows right through this. You don’t have a problem coming to my state and getting your handout of landowner tags.
