So placements are rapidly happening for me at my job, and if I don't get my first choice to stay here locally in Western Washington (Family reasons), Idaho Falls and Columbia Falls are an option. Does anyone have any insight into these area's as far as family life, schools, house prices, and most importantly...hunting?

As a hunter I would look at hunting options when you make your choice. Some states have more options that make a resident hunter at better odds when trying to draw a coveted tag. Your other choices will be quality of life and education for for the kids. Both are good choices and real estate prices will help to make your decision. I have family that has lived in northern Idaho for two generations and friends in that part of Montana. Dad lives in Washington now. Wish I could offer up more. Bob.

My buddy grew up in Columbia Falls and we go back occasionally to meet his buddy for gopher hunts. The area is beautiful and you are right in the middle of some awesome fly fishing areas. That also puts you in striking distance of a lot of hunting areas in Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming. You will be in grizzly country. You can expect a lot of tourists in the summer due to the proximity to Glacier National Park.
