Idaho Deer/Elk/Antelope Draw Results

What Robby said and most Idaho sportsmen don't think sending the vote to an outside company was necessary/a good decision.
Wasn't part of the reason for the change that people were complaining that the draw was "rigged"? Weren't folks even saying they thought Commissioner's and other IDF&G folks should be excluded from the draw?

The regs say July 10th, no reason to get your panties in a bunch until then...all the years it was earlier was just a bonus.

Anybody who has paid attention to the previous 2 draws this year should have known better than to expect the results early.

Because it said July 10 since the 90s and we’ve always found out way before then, like June 25. Give us a break.

Just stirring the pot while I'm waiting to see unsuccessful eventually

Whoa there, take it easy. There was basically no evidence of it being rigged. There was a loud mouth state legislature jerking things around.

It isn't surprising that it's late this year. The fact is that the draw was one way for years and they made a stupid decision and now it's much later.

^ This. There never was any evidence that the draw was rigged. Just some stories and conspiracy theories. So now we have a draw that takes longer and costs IDFG a ton of money in the process.

Does anyone remember waiting for the yellow slip to arrive in snail mail? Or is everyone just too technology induced? Haha... I'm as anxious as everyone, but since day 1, they have on their website results july 10th, which is a week away therefore how can you really complain when they haven't messed up yet?

Agree...July 10th is the deadline and they have flexibility to that date. They left enough leeway to send stone chiseled plates to everyone’s cave.

It is frustrating to think that with today’s technology that it takes 30+ days to assign an application with a random number and simulate a draw. Even if the results come out “on time” I think we deserve better than this.

In 2017 there were 65,312 1st choice deer applications, @ $6.25 a pop that is $408,200. For just one species! Pretty sure I could find a tech guy that could get that excel sheet going and still chisel out the notifications and snail mail results for all species in less than 30+ days for $408k. Not a bad salary for a months worth of work.

The cynic in me... this is a power play by our elected civil servants. Force inadequacy on F&G to question the need of a true draw and sway the public to accept points/landowner tag system next go around.

The optimist in me....First times are always rough and going forward the new vendor will improve the process and results will be out in a jiffy.

If the cynic in me is right, I want to know who was leading this legislation and I want to direct my frustration towards them, not F&G.

Exactly. Express frustration to your state representative. They want to play games with fish and game to serve their motives. One legislator was spearheading this, can't remember his name.

Its easy to tell what party was all for the legislation...Its an easy start to just vote more parity into the statehouse and not give one group control and do whatever they want and continually go further and further towards the fringe with no repercussion.

I don't think it was rigged, should have said that in my original post.

I was just pointing out that was one reason I saw thrown around for the new system....I'm honestly pretty clueless as to why and who pushed for this change.

I tend to think this is going to be some first year issues and it should get better after this. One thing that would speed the process up a whole lot is if they quit accepting papers apps and made everyone do it either online or in person...it is 2018 after all.

Couldn't agree more Mtnboy.....make all controlled hunt submissions online only. Your killing me smalls with these paper applications..... Come Idaho lets get with the times.

I think I’m having a anxiety attack. The part that’s most disturbing is California posted results in 2 weeks from the deadline. Let that sink in. It can’t be too difficult if California out of all states can do it.

Gonna be one long weekend if they don’t post tomorrow!! Might end up drinking the entire time to forget.
