LOl just over 17k have applied as of 0800 for the 2000 ish tags in the second draw.

Probably similar timeframe to first draw as they have to do entire process over again

I think it was about 3 weeks after, but we had Christmas and New Years in there to slow things down....

First draw results were posted Jan 6.

March 6 is a Friday. I would bet that the results will not be posted any later than that.

I was also surprised how many tags were still available. I drew a deer tag (unit 36) and no elk tag. I put in for an elk tag in the 2nd draw in the same area I’ll deer hunt in.

My guess is a lot of people’s thought process was like this:

“If I’m buying the license, I might as well put in for deer and elk. If I draw my top deer choice I’ll not purchase the elk tag (and vise versa). I’ll might as well fill out 5 choices because I already paid the license cost and finish research after.”

Doesn’t necessarily hurt the guy that remembers to put on for all of the additional draws (2nd, 3rd, ect.)….

Just don’t get me started on YouTubers encouraging people to apply everywhere. Hunt Quietly isn’t wrong about this…shhhhh
