First pic is the small muzzy bull pictured above on top of the smaller 4x4 that was my first elk. Second is a tiny 5x4, third shows a small 4x4 on the wall that was my first solo kill and pack out. Sorry for the multiple posts. I just took these pics in my office while working.

First elk from a few years ago, almost looked like a tall spike at first going through the trees but finally got a view of the brows. I was more than happy with him considering the unit and crazy 1st rifle pressure in the area.

Here is a sad cautionary tale of a “not legal” bull. Found him the third day of first rifle, it was clear someone saw a brow time and shot, then left him to rot when they realized it didn’t meet the 4point rule and it didn’t meet the five inch brow rule. Pretty disgusting to just leave it. Also, based on the entrance wound, shot placement, and terrain, the shooter had to have been within 100 yards in a very open aspen glade and still made the identification error.

Had to watch him a few minutes in the timber at 60 yards to find that little 4th on the right side. Didn't trust the brow tine was long enough...glad I waited. 4.5" brow. Take alot of harrassment from my buddies about it, but I believe I will always remember that hunt as one of my fondest.

Some mashers on this thread. I'll have to dig up a pic of my smallest legal bull after we went to branch antler restrictions here. I will say I let him go the first time I saw him. The second time he turned his head just right!

I've killed a small one or two, I'd have to dig really deep to find the pics, they're really old, all CO bulls with 4 points.

Anymore, I wish for the smallest legal bull on the mountain, so it's easier to deal with.
