They exchanged my boots. I sent them back to Bozeman and about two-three weeks later I had a brand new pair in hand.

I sent a pair in with same problems and they sent the same ones back with new soles, rubber rand and insert, but wouldn't exchange to newer style. They have sat for the last 6 months as I have replaced them with Zamberlands.

Try the Hanwag GTX Mt. Lites.

a boot that needs 50 miles to feel comfortable is not worth having. Schnees is your neck of the woods and very comfortable IMO.

I thought Kenetrek and Schnees were started by the same person. Are there designs that much different?

definitely different boots. I've tried both. I have a pair of Schnees Granites that I really like. I don't like the Kenetrek, but that is my feet. I've also tried the Beartooths, but they didn't work for me and I don't know why as the people at Schnees said that the Granites and Beartooths should fit the same. Didn't need any breakin for the Granites and they are darn'd stiff.
