Ok... Not really..

I have been a member for a short period of time, maybe 3 months, and this site has cost me almost $1000.00. I have learned of so much backcountry gear I never knew existed. I never had a need for it, until I realized it did exist.

Aron over @ Kifaru, gave me a smoking deal on a new pack, so I had to purchase that. Next I saw the accessories from Kifaru, had to get some of those too. Then the classifieds.... Got a few items off of there.

Looking at everyone's hunting success in their states, has given me some ideas on where I need to apply next year. It just keeps on going.
Thanks for providing such a valuable website.

I was in the same boat as you a couple years ago. I wish I would have seen this website before my 1st 7 day backpack hunt. Could have saved me lots of money in the long run not having to re-buy gear to replace substandard junk.

Still working on what gear works best where and how I hunt, along with replacing gear as the needs arise and funds allow. I have learned tons from this website and forum.

Welcome to the club! If you have that piece of gear known as a wife, it will only get worse.

With the right wife like mine it cost two times as much :)

Exactly! I thought it would be cool to have a wife that was up for an adventure....now I'm re-thinking that...I have to buy two of everything..and not crap gear either, have to have the best gear because as all you husbands know.."if momma aint happy, aint nobody happy"

So she is either on you for spending more money on hunting or on you for not buying her new gear too, I guess the wife gets you both ways.

I know exactly what you mean. I have only been on here a couple months and I have already spent money on a pack, clothes, tent, and I have a mule deer hunt now planned for next year and an AK caribou hunt in the works for 2016. DAMN YOU ROKSLIDE!!!! ;-)

it does not end either. i am pretty much set and happy now with my gear, but after riding out 2 wet as hell archery seasons in a small ul backpack tent, im saving to pull the trigger on a Kifaru Sawtooth this winter.

Everyone needs a family of tents............
and backpacks.........
and boots.......
and hats.........
and weapons......
and
and
and
and Rokslide is a big help for all that :)

Rokslide cost me somewhere between $2k-$3k this year. I quit keeping exact track because it doesn't really matter I'm going to buy it no matter how much it sets me back so why keep track of depressing statistics.

I can't figure out why I need more than one high end pack? I have two, and I find myself wanting another one. Then there's shelters, who knows when I'll have enough of those.
