There is almost nothing in the world you can’t hunt with a 30-06 and a 3.5-10 scope. You’ve got a great setup. Unless headed to Africa for something that requires a .375, you’re set.
Get the rifle sighted in and then just shoot. And shoot. Do a lot of dry fire practice too. Offhand, kneeling, prone, sticks, leaning against tree, etc.

Get a couple A-Zoom snap-caps to use when dry firing. You can use them over and over and over again. It does help protect your firing pin when dry firing.

thanks for the suggestion. I think I have some from that manufacturer for my handgun. Also have a bunch for my shotgun but not sure of the brand. Been doing a lot of dry fire practice at home since the ranges are all closed.

there isnt a damn thing wrong with the ‘06 and it’s a wise choice. it’s been in the top 10 rifle cartridges for more years than a lot of the new “wonder cartridges” have existed.

whoever advised you on the 30 06 gave you very solid advice.
