Put me in the camp of definitely buy once ;) cry once for a can. A good quality UL Ti can. TBAC UL 7 is pretty much the standard. No first hand experience but the Q stuff seems good if you can stomach the owner.

I think that's the second harvester that's come apart on a 300 WM on here in the past year.

My harvester on a 20” 308 has been good (my first can so I can’t comment on it being louder than other cans). I wonder if when you produce as many suppressors as SiCo produces, the % of error starts to show itself. Where the smaller companies don’t produce near the number of cans so issues haven’t arisen yet (not referring to TBAC, they seem to get fantastic reviews)

My recommendation would be to stay away from SilencerCo. My SOT has been having alot of QC/warranty issues with them. I have a TBAC (highly recommend), a StingerWorx Hunter 30 (highly recommend for a smaller company) and a RexSilentium MG7 (another smaller company) in process. I have had phenomenal customer service with TBAC and have had zero issues from my StingerWorx. I haven't shot the Rex can yet but I hear they are badass.

Personally I think the smaller companies pay more attention to QC rather than bigger companies that are cranking cans out to meet demand.

Good luck
I had a baffle strike on my harvester that was entirely my fault.
They had it fixed and back to me at no cost in a few weeks. Great customer service, great warranty as someone who has used it.

I got a gemtech tracker on super sale at gander a few years ago. Just be aware gemtech was sold years ago and I have heard nothing good about their customer service since. On top of that I havnt seen a tracker in stock anywhere since. Just something to keep in mind as a can is a lifetime purchase.

I’d read up on the company reputation, before buying. I would have never bought the tracker if it wasn’t under 300$

A little off topic but curious what happened? Want to make sure I prevent baffle strikes as best I can

Not sure about this scenario but typically it can be due to the threads backing off, non concentric threads or too large of a projectile.

Keep the suppressor tight, don't trust factory threads and use the correct size projectile or smaller.

I have a harvestor on my 25-06 and a resonator on a 6.5. It's definitely louder, but hearing safe and lighter. for the price point I think it's pretty good.

I'm considering the Ultra 7, just for some of the reasons listed in the thread. I mean 2 ounces isn't game breaking, but almost 2" in length is nice since it would live on my Sig Cross.

It was almost brand new, took a couple shots, didn't verify it was still tight.
Didn't even notice until I saw a keyhole on paper. Was like oh that's not good.

Looks like this thread has plenty of opinions but I just completed my first hunt with my Harvester. The can was on a 24 inch barrel 6.5 PRC and carried through plenty of thick low mesquites. Never had an issue with length. Weight was also no issue. I took one shot but even without any hearing protection there wasn’t the slightest hint of ringing or discomfort. The bullet used was a Berger 156 on top of 56.2 grains of N565 with a MV of about 2930 fps.
I also shoot it on my Bergara HMR Pro in 6.5 creed and it’s extremely quiet shooting 140 hybrids. I have about 500 total rounds through the can with zero issues. Since it’s not made for sustained fire it is significantly less expensive and was the perfect option for a hunting rifle for me. If SiCo is having QC issues I haven’t experienced them.
I also own a Dead Air Sandman S which is excellent for a 6.5 caliber but it’s heavier and very overbuilt if you’re only using it for a bolt gun without long strings of fire. Great can however and Dead Air is rock solid. Right now the only gun I have it on is a .243 which is laughably quiet.
Good luck.

how much will a suppressor help reduce on a .308 cal rifle.....prob a stupid question but I'm not to schooled on these suppressors
I had my Dead Air Sandman L on a Ruger Predator 308. 18” barrel. Suppressed it to ear safe and completely comfortable without earmuffs. 👍

“laughably quiet” is exactly right! Dead Air Sandman is a hoot to shoot.
