The Sitka gear videos are better than any hunting crap on tv today. No bs. The only talking is VoiceOver telling a story. And they always have good music!!!

Alot of Sitka videos are done by the boys at Montana Wild. Check out their youtube page. Good stuff.

I think that article was a freakin hilarious and accurate, but that's my opinion.
What I see is a difference in the mindset of western vs eastern hunters.

A few thoughts: your second comment is something that I was just thinking about. I used to frequent the Bowsite quite a bit, but that site is so dominated by whitetail topics that most of the subject matter is uninteresting and many of the threads that would be interesting are dominated by eastern hunters guessing at the right answers to questions on western hunting - so much so that the good advice gets watered down and marginalized by the sheer volume of bad advice. Contrast that against Rokslide and it is easy to understand this site's popularity.

The state of outdoor programming is so bad I almost never watch it anymore.

I have the term "delta bravo" copyrighted so anyone who cares to use it needs to mail me a shiny nickel every time they do. ;-)

Jim Rome was the first person I heard drop the delta bravo. I agree there is a mindset difference. I cannot stand most of the shows but I Will not miss Western Hunter, solo hunters, and Meat Eater. Those guys are all the real deal. I like the Eastmans guys but rarely watch the show anymore. They are really straying from their DIY public land roots and the majority of their hunts are private land pay to play or antelope these days just like all of the other "Western" hunting shows out there.

OK, I gotta comment. I'm new here so take if with a grain of salt, but I live in east Tennessee and have been hunting white tails all my life. I've hunted Alaska, Colorado, and Utah. That being said I haven't watched "hunting" shows for probably ten years because they kind of dusgust me. Down south there unfortunately seems to be a lot of the same mentality as the crap on TV. But I have met slob hunters from many different parts of the country. Roughly 20% of the population in this country hunts and just a little less than that is against hunting. The other 60% doesn't really care but they will ultimately end up influencing the future of hunting greatly. All the fist pumping and chest bumping crap is not in our best interest. I just can't see what is hard about showing some respect for nature and the critters we hunt. Just my 2¢ worth.

I will also agree with Ethan. Most shows are so pathetic anymore that it actually makes me upset when I try to watch. There is nothing wrong with getting excited after a kill, but adding hollywood to hunting just ain't working. But I will say, being from Pennsylvania, not all of us out east are bad! lol
