Looking for a scope in the 1000-1500 range. 15x, 16x max.
Prefer no illumination
Will be a hunting scope that will have a hunting range of 500 yd max. But will shoot further a couple times a year

Brands I've looked at are below. Am I missing anything I should be looking at? Any that stand out over the others?

Leopold mark 4,
Leopold vx-5hd
Burris veracity
Burris XTR III
Nightforce SHV
Trijicon accupoint
Trijicon Huron
Maven RS 1 or 1.2

I knew I would get the hate for leopold here. But I've got them on several rifles and like them
Well if you have no issue with them, the 3-15 is about perfect… as far as a hunting scope goes, beware the “floating zero”

I really like my Triji Credo 2.5-10x56 for a hunting scope. Clean simple illuminated mil reticle, great glass, not too heavy, can live with SFP @ 10x max.

I like Leopold and I don't even use the top of the line. They have proven hardy and can take abuse. I have used them in Wyoming, Canada and up and down the East coast.

Will probably try a Nightforce in the future. But it's hard to break away from something that works well. Plus I shoot a whole lot.

I'm shipping a Leupold Mark 4HD back tomorrow for warranty due to a POI shift.

Wondering if it can be repaired in a manner that will eliminate the risk of it happening again.

If you're not shooting over 500 yards I'd take a good look at the schmidt and bender klassik. The 3-12 is about the perfect hunting scope imo
Do you know if the illuminated reticle is visible at 3-4 power in the timber? I just ordered a 3-12 Klassik today for my Tikka T3X .300 WSM. Also, I read that the elevation travel was increased to 4.8 mils. Do you imagine this is enough to ring steel out to 700 yards? I've read a lot of good about this scope so I took the chance.

I had the nxs 2.5-10. It was a great scope but i didn’t like the exposed wind. Switched to the Maven rs1.2. It’s been a really good scope so far.

I don't have one & I'm not scope shopping presently, but I definitely would take a close look a GPO.

While I don't recommend being too swayed by anything said on the Internet, check-out "Cyclops Videos Joe W Rhea" on YouTube. At the very least you'll be entertained!
