Just ran the first rounds through my ARC CDG Lightweight rifle and thought I would share some initial thoughts. Barrel was chambered by Blue Mountain Precision in 25 Creedmoor. Will be using this rifle for NRL Light as well as for backpack deer hunts.

Build Specs
ARC CDG Lightweight SA
Proof Carbon Barrel 26"
MDT HNT 26
RPM Rings
Vortex LHT 4.5-22
Hellfire Match
Triggertech Special

Pros
Smooth Action
AW mags
Zero slop in the folding stock
Action can be disassembled without tools

Cons
The MDT grip is pretty weird. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. I do like the swell in the grip, maybe it'll grow on me.

The split pic rail sections on the action are placed way too far forward. I'm struggling to understand how/why this choice was made when everything else about the action is so well thought out. I'm lucky that I was able to get proper eye relief, because I don't really have any more rearward travel available.

Feel free to hit me with questions!

What’s your LOP on that setup? I’m guessing that may have something to do with almost not being able to get the scope back far enough.

I’ve got a 6mm creedmoor cdg build and I love the aw mag setup, went together good and feeding has been flawless.

Nice rifle

Shade under 9 pounds

Good thought, but the LOP ain't the issue, scope was set and I shot the initial 50 rounds with zero spacers installed, I just threw those in to see how they changed the feel in different shooting positions.

Nice! The rail sections are what make me question whether I would use it. My MK5 wouldn’t work based on how far back your scope is and it seems longer than the MK5.

I love ARC actions. I run a Nucleus, and will eventually lighten it up myself.

Had to look at my setup, I could see how the lightweight could be an issue.

Same scope, just not the lightweight.

Nice rig! The CDG actions had a lot going for them until the price hike. I have a few the standard weight versions. I never understood their picatinny placement on the lightweight.

As much as I like my CDG I specifically don’t own the lightweight version as I can’t use my Nightforce on them.
