No offense taken and no need to apologize! You are correct everything is a compromise, and we all make those decisions. I use NF because I don’t want to compromise one bit of durability. The are proven reliable and have never let me down. It may come at a very small compromise here and there as any optic could. The Mil-c reticle in my NX8 gives me more headache than the Mil-r in the nxs I have. The NX8 being ffp makes the thin reticle so hard to see at low power. I still have a few of them. The Mil-r in the NXS in SFP is easy to see for my eyes. And to reiterate, I wouldn’t choose to use the reticle for a long range shot, but it’s good to know you can.

I love the durability of NF — totally agree with you. Just wish they had better reticles.

Starting to wonder if SWFA and Maven get their scopes from the same manufacturer lol

It’s got to be incredibly frustrating to have customers waiting in line to buy your product, and you’re forced to leave profits on the table because your supplier can’t keep up.

I'd be willing to bet that it's NOT a supplier problem. Most factories can crank it out as fast as it can get paid for, Of course, there's production scheduling for specific items runs and those OEM's are producing for multiple companies as well. It's most likely a cash flow issue from the "manufacturer". If you were the OEM, would you continue to fill/ship orders that are tens of thousands (if not hundred of thousands) of dollars when you're still waiting on a them to pay their invoice from the last shipment? I wouldn't. Plus these smaller boutique optics companies are also not keeping heavy inventory, to prevent dollars from being tied up.

Then you add in the absolute shit show that container shipping/logistics has become in the last 4 years, it creates big delays. I work in the furniture industry doing factory warranty work, it's not at all unusual for shipping to take literally MONTHS from an OEM in Asia to a retailer in the states, even for something as small as a two button switch for a power recliner. It's the same story, their U.S. offices don't keep much in inventory so that there's no money tied up just sitting in racks.

Ok, so I got the RS1.2 FFP with SHR-MIL, I'd love any pointer on how to use that retical (or "practice" thought drills folks do, @Formidilosus? ) to swap from MOA "thinking" to MIL. For example I zeroed my 223 with it today, and my "group" was .75" high and left, so I knew instinctively that I would dial down 3 "clicks" and right 3 "clicks", but I spent a ton of mental gymnastics to figure out that on my Maven, I needed 2 "clicks" dn/rt.

I think a lot of this is going to be just "using it", as the FFP is also a big change, and is essentially a duplex retical until about 6x.

A. Use the reticle to measure your adjustment.

B. Print a shot with crosshairs on bullseye. Hold the rifle still and move the turrets until the crosshairs move to hole.

Neither necessitate converting linear measurements to angular. Nor should you ever need to do that.

Not sure how many times that needs to be said, but it sure seems a tough concept for many to grasp.

I'd bet SWFA's manufacture requires 50% payment with the order and 50% before it ships.
