What are two pairs of hunting pants that will cover me in most of my hunting applications in Nebraska? I’m hunting in basically every month from August to February and then spring turkey. Bowhunting whitetail, spot and stalk antelope and mule deer, as well as coyotes. Thinking like a Sitka Apex and some Timberlines. I don’t need anything for cold cold weather, as I usually wear sweatpants under my hunting bibs. Anything else I should consider?

You are on the right track. Apex for early season and Timberlines for Mid-Late season. I've even used my Apex pants in late season but I have to layer up underneath pretty well.

Anybody tried the new pants from Stone Glacier? The standardized vent on every layer is certainly appealing...
For all you Sitka guys, the price seems to be right up your ally! ;)

depends on which side on NE your on, western side is open country with sage and grass lands eastern side is small rolling hills with trees and grass.

I live in the dead center of Nebraska and hunt the Sandhills and the eastern parts.

I am in the NE Sandhills. I have first light catylist soft shells. They have been perfect from September to May. A little to warm in the heat of the summer.

My wife’s place is a big Sandhills ranch. Have any problem with the soft shell picking up every sticker/possible thing?

Sitka timberline are my favorite. Waterproof seat works well as long as it isn't super wet and the knee pads come in handy more than you think. Super stretchy and dry out quick

Thanks! Figured they’d be good pants for the winter months where I’m spot and stalking muleys in the snow.

That was my plan. Thanks!

Have you had em in snow? Wondering how much moisture they absorb.

For snow I prefer an actual snow camo and like bibs over pants. Natural Gear is cheap, warm and dry and during a week long hunt in Utah when it snowed and blew every f__king day...I was never chilly once. Nasty cold wind was relentless...only stopped for two hours the entire week (when I shot this clip). Only time I felt the cold was when I removed my gloves to shoot video.

I like the Sitka Mtn pants the best. I can wear them for early archery Elk all the way to late November hunts with the right baselayers under them. The Sitka factory DWR is terrible and I've had to treat all my pants after the first year of use with Atsco permanent water guard.

That stuff really did wonders for my pants.

Those would probably work good for you. I run the mtn pant for early and then timberlines late.

I hunt out there every December and have Eddie Bauer Guide Pros or Wranglers. Two years ago the temps never got above 10. Added some base layers and I was good. I also have some Cabela’s pants that are heavy fleece with the wind proof liner if I want to do any sitting.

What did you get?

Kuiu attack, prana Zion, and Sitka timbeline.

Prana pants see the most action recently. Attack pants and guide jacket in Vais cover a lot of condition here in Kansas and MO.

Just add the timbeline jacket and pants last fall as my Kuiu stuff was getting older. Found the Sitka on sale. Jumped on it.

Kuiu Attack pants for deer season and Guide pants for elk season in NE OR. Last cow seadon did not get above 10° for a week and the Guide pants held up great. Love the Attack pants for comfort, venting and durability in brushy country during deer season.

I ended getting the Eddie Bauer pants and I will really like those for early season, gonna have my grandma sew in a pocket for knee pads. Then found a good deal on some timberlines!

I really want to try some of Kuiu's pants, but for the life of me I can't understand why they make pants with an articulated knee or with knee pads, but they're all 34" inseam? WTF!!! How is that practical for us shorter guys? You can't just hem the extra length because the knee position is WAY too low and very uncomfortable. Come on! You guys are smarter than that...
