Hey guys,

I'm in the market for a pack to use when elk hunting and wanted to find out if the tallest among you have any recommendations that would fit a tall man nicely. For reference, I'm 6'7'' tall, 230 lbs. and have a waist size of 34-36''. I'm looking to prioritize fit over all other features... however, if it's well made, on lighter side, and loaded with features for pack-hunting and meat hauling, that's even better. Thanks for the input!

Edit: Distance from my C7 to my iliac crest is 19''. With that measured I guess I'm a lot of leg. Got me that kermit the frog phenotype ;)

Seek Outside offers a 28” frame and if you call Kifaru they have done 28” frames as well by request. Depending on your torso length you could be fine with a 26” frame, Id call Kifaru or Seek Outside and talk to them about it first hand.

I'm 6'6" 200lbs. I bought the SG Sky 5900. I needed a med waist belt (32"-33") with a long torso (21.5). Most companies think if you're tall, you must also be big waisted. Mine feels great with 40 lbs in it. Hopefully I'll get to pack out with it this fall.

Get a 26" frame at least.

I have an EXO k3 with the tall frame that fits well, I’m 6’6” 200 lbs with a 35 inch waist, I use a the medium belt.

6’4” (not quite as tall), 206, 34-36 waist and longer torso. I’ve had 50+ pounds in my SG 6200 and it felt great as well. I use a medium belt. I tried a large belt at 1shot and it didn’t leave much to be adjusted. The guys there mentioned how you lose a few during the hunt as well. Hoping to use the load shelf this year.

Height doesn’t matter. Torso length is what you need to measure and reference to the pack companies.

I'm 6'4" but have a longer torso than the OP.

I ran a custom McHale for a couple decades....now I just picked up an EXO and it actually fits, comfortable pack.

i'm 6'6" and 250lbs. I have the MR Beartooth in XL. Going by their measurement guide i have about a 21' torso and their L/XL sizes extend to 24".

If you wait it out you can probably get them for 20% off at Blackovis

I'm 6'5", 240, 36" waist. What ever you buy, don't buy a MR. They are awesome packs but not good for tall guys.
I sadly sold mine recently and a have a brand new kuiu 7800 that still in its plastic bag that I'm going to try out this year.

Speaking of McHale, here is Mr McHale in a throwback photo wearing a sleeved Raku bag from Nunatak.

I'm 6'5" ~195, 34in pant size - I disagree with this; I picked up the new Guidelite MT frame from MR this year and it fits very well - comparable to the Exo K3 frame when loaded with same weights up to 80lbs. I am definitely longer in the leg than the torso but still. I'd recommend you get a few and try them out, no one else will be able to tell you which pack will fit best.

I'm 6', with a 19" torso. The Seek Outside 24" frame has been great, add 4" extensions for extra load hauling capacity, this is currently my favourite frame. I also have a Kifaru 24", could have used the 26" just as easily. Same thing with Kuiu, the 2 tallest sizes work.

Basically you have alot of options.

I'm 6'4", 38" waist, 34" inseam, long torso....I like the Seek Outside 28" frame. Loaded heavy (>100lbs) in the pics below you can see there is still lift in those Load Lifters:
