There is nothing special about hunting brand pants. Most of them are okay, but most don’t last at all.

I switched to Fjallraven pants I think it’s been 4 or 5 years now. I prefer the Vidda Pro Ventilated model. They are the best pants for outdoor activities that I’ve ever used.

Most guys and gals I’ve recommended them to on this site or in person that have bought them, have never gone back to any other pant brand.

I have been curious about these for a while. In what ways do they outperform the others?

Bringing this back up as I'm wondering if there are any others using them... I've got some first light and sitka pants both are nice for open hiking in non brushy terrain, shed light water OK
...but my last 2 trips to wyoming in found myself far more comfortable in my Carhartt rugged flex work pants and wearing them most of the trip.
I've been wearing them pretty much exclusively since trying the first pair few years ago.
For a 98% cotton 2% spandex blend they flex well and don't pinch. The pocket layout is great with phone pocket on the side and deep rigid pockets all around. I feel totally secure with wallet in back pocket...the back pockets on the first light and sitka stuff are flimsy, stretchy and useless in my opinion and I'd never put anything important in them.
Being mostly cotton they do stiffen up and shrink a bit with repetitive washes so I buy slightly long and slightly wider waist but I've found the slightly loose waist with a stretch belt works great and is very comfortable... I give them a good stretching before putting on and they just do work.
They aren't super light or crazy breathable but at temps in the 40s to 70s for 10 mile or under day trip hunts they are fantastic and double as everyday/work pants and available in alot of colors that work well with a camo shirt/jacket...the solid color pants and camo top make you look like a tree or sage brush.
The Double front version is great for brush busting work.
I'm going to hit a pair with DWR just for experimentation sake and see how that goes. I will say they dry reasonable fast for cotton. At $60 or less a pair I find them very durable and versatile. Just my $.02
