I live in Mt and haven't heard of any yet but was wondering if any other states have implemented restrictions for the up coming season?

No way MT shuts anything down. We arent CA or WA.
Well I haven't seen public land shut down but I have definitely seen timber company land shut down due to fire danger which is usually accessible to the public. When that timber company land gets shut down that means in a lot of places it shuts down a lot of access to national forest.

Oregon currently has a lot of land shutdown. No access allowed. We also have a metric ton that is currently burning or has burned already. Apparently the closures could remain into early October which would mean no archery hunting in a lot of places. If we dont get a chunk of rain between now and mid August then archery season may be in trouble. It doesn't help that one of our main fires in the big 3 either. I bet people holding those tags are sick to their stomachs.

I doubt we'll see public land shutdown to all access in MT. What is likely to happen is we see OHV shutdown on public land, stage 3 fire restrictions that mean you can't even use a stove and most of the Block Management Areas restricting access due to fire danger. That is, unless we get a couple inches of precip in August, which seems pretty unlikely

Montana has shutdown bow season before, and the forest services can shutdown public land. If i was betting the forest service will shutdown forests or Montana will shutdown the first couple weeks of bow season if we don't receive rain prior to september. I believe the first two weeks of bow season was shutdown in the mid 2000s and in 1988 both prior to when i started bow hunting. if we don't recieve rain and its not open by rifle season we have bigger problems than hunting...

Timber company land is shut down in Ca already, I’m sure national forest closures aren’t far behind like last year.
Didn’t the FS only close if they had fires in/around them?

I thought all other FS land was open, just no fire of any kind (stove incld.)?

Why do people view land shutdowns as a liberal plot to steal your god given freedoms? What it is is a land manager plot to keep dumbasses with cigarette butts from burning your freedom to a a charred husk.

Some areas it was closed completely, the rest was a ban on any dispersed camping. No backpacking, no camping at a TH or sleeping in your truck, etc. Day hikes were the only option.

Not all Ca FS was closed during archery season last year. I hunted a zone with two major fires burning near by. It was open all archery to any kind of access.

Well, here in norcal with the Beckworth fire and the Dixie/Fly fires there will certainly be major usage restrictions in and around those areas.

There having a meeting soon about things in Fort Knox which is a military base in Kentucky which holds good hunting so we will see what they change there
