Hunting canceled due to Govt Shutdown

Yes, and built by the Forrest Service aka "the government."

Unless you are going to get out there and cut some roads into 30 degree slopes, maybe do a little blasting and drainage work, like or not, you are in fact relying on the government's help to go hunting.
The only reason people don't do that on their own is because the government would arrest you for doing so. You think the people can't build a road? Fov just needs to get out of the way is all.

I love the confidence. The absolute, unshakeable belief that you have the funds and engineering prowess of a small nation-state to build a 30-mile road through the Rockies, just to go hunting.

But instead, you're using socialist pavement. And Forest Service roads. And a power grid built by committee. You're basically a government-subsidized mountain man.

The only thing you're truly building from scratch is the epic post you'll make on Rockslide about the importance of self-sufficiency.

Are you really proposing unrestricted road building on public land by members of the public?

He treats the Constitution like an à la carte menu. On Mondays, he's ordering the "Leave Me Alone" special—a small government, extra crispy, with a side of absolute freedom.

But by Friday, if he's seen a protest on TV he doesn't like, he's screaming at the waiter to bring him the "Federal Occupation Platter," with an extra-large National Guard deployment and a bottomless supply of active-duty troops.

All those passionate lectures about "states' rights" are apparently just a seasonal appetizer, sent back to the kitchen if they don't pair well with the main course of authoritarianism he's craving that day. And his "Don't Tread on Me" sticker has a tiny asterisk at the bottom that says, "Unless I'm the one wearing the boots."

His hypocrisy is well documented on this forum. Just do a quick search for posts by the user name.
It is entertaining though, so we let him stick around for the comedic value.

Do you think the money for gov build roads through the rockies didn't come from the people?

lol show me on the doll where I touched you. :ROFLMAO:

Of course not, but he's claiming the American people can't do anything without his beloved government and I'm pointing out the ridiculousness of that idea. If people need a road built and the gov allowed it then people will build a road.

The CCC built roads all over the Rockies with helluva lot less than what we have available to us now. I've built FS roads, you can do a lot with a D6 Cat and a chainsaw. Miners would scratch out a 15 mile wagon road just on a rumor there was gold at the end of it. I couldn't imagine where we'd be now if we had the same regulations now as we do when they were building the interstate system, power grid or just regular highways.

This is why you are so entertaining, man. You can't fully wrap you head around any concept.

DO YOU USE ROADS BUILT BY THE GOVERMENT? Yes or No?

If, yes, then STFU, because you use government resources.

And, we know the answer is not no. Its really that simple.

Could you build a road through the national forrest? As in are you capable of it? Maybe. But, you haven't and you won't so you'll keep using and sharing those socialists highways just like everyone else.... And you'll like it.

What in sam hell are you even going on about? When did I ever even claim to not use gov resources? I'm stating facts here, nobody needs the government to be operating to go hunting on our public property.

This was the comment I replied to, and I simply stated that without the gov telling us we couldn't do it, the people will build roads where they need them. This isn't even debatable, it's a fact that would happen. You seem to think that without the gov we'd all be living in a cave somewhere knocking rocks together trying to make a fire.

Your brilliance, comprehension and reason is superior as usual.

Nah, we'll just get the timber companies to build the roads. They built most of the existing roads anyhow. They'll log it. We'll hunt it- no bureaucracy or deficit spending needed.

I was thinking more along the lines of, "if you drive a road that was built and/or maintaiuned by the Forrest Service, then you relied on government help to go hunting"
If there is a tree down across the road and I get out with my chainsaw and remove it you can drive through to go hunting. If you come down that same road tomorrow, you can still go hunting without my help.

The government will NEVER tell me I can’t hunt! I own the land. Just like you. Our forefathers and the people who participated in the Boston Tea Party would be right there with me. If the federal fu€<up$ tell me hunting on national forest is prohibited I just think wow…. way less pressure this is gonna be a great season!

Man some of you would explode if you knew what they did while logging, closing roads and restricting access.
The gov't closes roads all the time and restricts access on the NF.

I don't know that I've ever seen a USFS employee outside of a visitor center - there just aren't that many of them!
I was checked by usfs LEOs like 2 years ago. The 2 officers were very professional and did a nice job. I was glad they were out there. Was a lot of hunters and recreators in that spot.
