Hunting buddies from forums

How many folks out there have found quality hunting buddies online?

Have moved a ton over the last 15 years with my career, and have not had my childhood buddies around to hunt/fish with. My wife always laughs at me, calls it my outdoor dating app.

I've made some life long duck hunting buddies from DHC, fly fishing buddies from Microskiff during my time on the gulf, and some good hunting/scouting buddies on Rokslide now that I'm back out west.

Anybody else have similar experiences? Any horror stories?

Met one of my best fly fishing buddies on a forum. We have a good time, still fish as often as we can.

Still haven't hunted with anybody from the forums. Probably will eventually I'm sure.

I’ve fished and hunted with a few dude I’ve met on forums. Most only once or twice but a couple I hope to for the rest of my life.

Met several great people on forums and even went to New Zealand to hunt with a new friend down there that I met on the now defunct "BowFreakz" site.

Ya I have met some great people from hunting forums! Went on a elk hunt, turkey hunting, duck hunting, shooting, and gear bull$hiting. The knowledge is deep with like minded people and desires to hunt! Hope to do more!

Hell, @mcseal2 let me take his Kifaru frame/nomad2 to Alaska on a caribou hunt this year to test it out! Telling me to get her bloody. Well no luck on my wet expedition, but the trip still burns in my memory.

I’ve met some quality friends online and some not so good ones in real life so I’m not scared of meeting people online and later hunting with them. It’s worked so far.

I was lucky enough to hunt with two fellow Rokslide members this past sheep season. They were both great guys and we had two amazing hunts. I hope to hunt with them again and fellow Rokslide members more often in the future.

The hunting buddies I met online were a massive reason I moved to the states, from the UK.
First stateside hunting trip I came on in '04, I met a bunch of guys, 50% of whom I speak with at least weekly. I've hosted several of them here & most have taken care of me out west, Texas & all points in between! I literally met ALL of my hunting friends online.
In all honesty, I think I've only ever met one guy I wouldn't hunt with again. But inn also not a particular gregarious person either. 7 is basically my friends limit!

I met my best friend on a website for people who race Ford Mustangs. We raced for years and now hang out, visit, fish and hunt together. I love him like a brother.

I have made life long friends from hunting forums. There are some damn good people out there if your discriminate. Totally grateful for good friends I have made.

I have fished with people I have met from fishing groups. All were fun to fish with. I haven't hunted with anyone from forums but there are a few I have met that I wouldn't hesitate to hunt with them if we lived closer.

I met a good hunting partner on Rokslide that I hunt with a few times a year. We did a 30 mile through hike together along with another rokslider. If we lived closer , we would do a lot more together

Not yet. For me, it would be great to meet a good hunting partner on a forum. I just don't know anyone that hunts like I do. The biggest issue is matching up points in different states.

I do have 6 puts for WY elk and I think I would be willing to split them with the right person.

No but I have some good friends I met through mountain bike and 4x4 forums over the years. I have a few guys I hunt with, but I'd rather roll solo anyway.
