I've been using the hunters wedge for rear support. It has the git lite fill. The more I use it the less I like it. What other alternatives are there for rear support??

I really like the Shmedium or Pint Size Game Changers with Git Lite from Armageddon Gear. They come too full but after you let a little media out they’re super versatile bags.

I also use a small rectangular shaped bag that only weighs 4 oz on lots of backcountry hunts.

I'll be buying a pint size Gamechanger with Git Lite fill for my hunting this season. It just has a lot more uses than a normal rear bag. I already used a full size Gamechanger for box stand hunting out east and know how useful the design is, even in a smaller form.

With modern long range stocks it doesn't really elevate the stock as you slide it back. So it just ends up sitting on the tip of the triagle no matter where you place it.

I use two different bags.

The first is a Weibad gray ops that sits on top of my sons tack table that he makes. I use this to glass off of as well as shoot off of. It was great and it’s super late. I will try to get the weight later. The other is from a sponsor on the website called LS wild. It is similar to a game changer but super light and smaller I really like this bag.

Both are filled with gitlite and a waxed canvas

The wedge bags are nice for shooting hunting stocks that’s shape matches the bag shape. For other stuff I like my tab gear

A wedge is a one trick pony, that only works well with stocks of appropriate geometry.

Personally use a pint sized or Schmedium game changer in the rear. Very adaptable. Git lite fill for something to carry around. Works well in the front too.

That little LS wild bag isn’t bad either if you need something that weighs nothing.

The pint sized is hard to beat for what it gives you.

Another vote for the pint size + gitlite. I shot both my pronghorn using one last year. I also like to throw the binos on top of it on the tripod if I'm feeling lazy and not wanting to ARCA them in.

I absolutely LOVE the wedge if your stock toe angle fits it. The weighted one is fantastic for zeroing heavy recoiled rifles that fit.

The mini wedge is sweet!

But it's not my favorite for stock/chassis with a flatter toe angle or bag rider. I have been messing with a more utilitarian design at 4oz for backpack hunting.

Man.......I've used a lot. Anymore is a shmedium filled bout 60-70% with a product called purg lite from precision underground. It's not quite as lite as git lite, but is more solid/stable at a not so horrible 3-4oz penalty. I have a sticky pint-sized that's filled with a medium weight fill that comes in the truck as well, this is just a rear support bag. Also have a waxed canvas pint-sized that is normally heavy fill but can swap to purg. The Shmedium at 60% will conform to all the dimensions of a pint sized at normal fill % but the size of the Shmedium shooting off logs or rocks just supports a lot more real-estate on the stock or chassis.

I used to own a sticky og gitlite game changer plus a pint sized git lite sticky, but that was when the bags never had user adjustable fill spouts that allows a guy to modify or change media. My medium weight sticky is not adjustable and will likely go soon.

Pick one versatile bag and become the master of it. Fear the man with one gun.....and one bag! Lol

A pint sized or schmedium gamechanger works as a rear bag with traditional style stocks or modern stocks as well as a support bag for shooting off of basically anything, or a rest for glassing. It's all you need unless you're getting into PRS or NRL and even then you're not at a significant disadvantage with only one bag and the more important additional bags would be a pump pillow or something similar.

I'm not an expert at any of this stuff, but any time there's a chance of a shot at anything over close range, I bring a pint sized Gamechanger with Git lite. It's just really versatile. It works great on my rifles right under the front action screw, as well as a rear bag.

I know they aren't exactly light, but I don't use a bipod so I figure it takes the place of one.

When I shoot the gunwerks rifle I have these on.

I have one stock with a bag hook, and it's an 11# 338 rum slinging 300s at 2830fps. Has a big beast brake and is not bad to shoot at all. My 10# 300norma imp with 245s at 2950 had more perceived recoil, that's in an EH1 stock. So this is my only perception between the two, however I don't think it matters much. Proper body position and shooting posture is more important for recoil management VS the bag interface with the stock.

I have a SAP lightweight version of the Wiebad Whiskey Charlie Mini Fortune Cookie, it's pretty light under 3 lbs but still grippy and solid. I also want to try out "The Answer" rear bag from Mr Taylor on SH, so I have that one coming.
