I’ve got probably 500 shots on the new rx3 this summer and was lined in very well up until about a week ago and I noticed that I am loosing some speed. I had to adjust my pins down a substantial amount at longer yardages, upon further inspection my ATA has increased 0.5” from what the factory specs show. Hoyt says ata is 30.5” and I am setting at a full 31.

The bow still shoots fb broadheads well but I am wondering if I should take it to the shop and have them shorten the cables to get me back to factory ata.

I never thought to measure the ata when the bow was new but due to the fact that I am chasing elevation I feel certain I am loosing some speed.

Thanks for the input

If it shoots great then messing with it is optional. Having said that I would try to get it close to specs if it was my bow (I work on my own bow.) Keep in mind that as you shorten the cables the draw length will increase. If you decide not to get the ata adjusted at least double check the cam timing. On a Hoyt it is common for the cams to loose sync as the cables settle in and stretch. Cams being out of time could actually be the reason you are needing to adjust you sight, or it might actually be speed as you suspect.
