I want this bow so bad. I am a true 27" draw so I have used 26.5" bows for the last 20 years. The ultra would probably be a dog at the lowest cam setting therefore the Helix 31 is probably a better fit. Dang I want that 34 so bad.

Like Slim Jim said, it's the limb stops that often cause trouble for archers to pull through with tension type releases.
Good of you to read Ulmer's articles, he's the best out there in my opinion. I just think you might have gotten that point switched up.

If you are thinking about speed, you might be better off with the Turbo at 27". Both bows tuned up great and are shooting lights out.

My helix was probably one of the easiest bows to tune. Shoots and tunes way better than my RX1. Glad I traded it. Been looking at strings for after the season. Thinking of going with GAS bowstring. Anyone ever see if Dudley has a line of strings yet? Last I heard he was close but that was in April or may.

I like the Helix Ultra. The RX3 imho cannot compete against my Carbon Spyder Turbo Z5 cam so I didn’t splurge and instead like I stated, gobbled up a couple like new Nitrum 34’s with Z5 cams.


So now I got 5.75 brace Carbon, and 6.5 Nitrum Z5 bows.

The Nitrum I hunted with this summer I put new HogWire Strings on. It allowed me to break down the Carbon bow which had 4 year old strings on by Viscosity enough time to put new Viscosity Strings on, and shoot them in practicing while I hunted pigs with the Nitrum.

My Carbon is ready now and the Nitrum is my back up bow. The second Nitrum I won’t touch.

Sorry if it came across poorly. I was trying to understand what you meant.

As for Elite, I do believe they have fallen way behind all of the Major bow companies, not just Hoyt. I agree their limb stop is rock solid and the cable stop on the Hoyt has give. I actually prefer the cable stop, as I am able to pull through my shot easier.

My sentiments exactly. String stop if at all possible for me. Feels much more natural than a dead end street limb stop.

I think both combined would be nice. You can pull into the cable stop but at the very back have a limb stop that gives you a more consistent stopping point shot to shot.

He is too busy processing the meat from the bucks he killed with his 5lb bow to answer this question.

I hunted with a RX1 and a Hoyt nitrum 34 that was much heavier and the elk didn’t like those either. I don’t mind carrying a bow that will hold steady and be ridiculous reliable and durable.

No problem at all. The difference between the lightest bows on the market and the heaviest is what? Maybe one pound?
Some hunters are throwing on nearly that is weights for their stabilizing system.
To me it’s a non factor if the bow shoots well. Would I be happier if it weighed less, sure. I’d love to carry less weight anytime but it’s not enough to worry about.
The bow tunes and shoots great. It’s a great option I enjoyed hunting with.

The RX-3 Ultra worked great in KS for me.

I used the RX-3 Turbo in CO and it worked great too.

Another vote for the Helix Ultra. I’ve been loving mine. Still hunting in one tag this season with it.
