Howa Superlite

Reviving this old thread for updates from this season. Still seems like an awesome lightweight option.

Anyone have problems with the bottom plastic or magazine? I had issues on my minis with the plastic cracking in sub zero temps and solved that with the JO bottom metal. I am wondering if any aftermarket bottom metal options are in the works…
My 223 mini would turn the follower sideways and shove rounds vertically in the mag. If I was going to continue using that platformed id use an aftermarket hinged bottom metal

I love Howa but I don't love the CF stock they're using. It's extremely thin on the sides near the buttpad. I'd be interested in a barreled action and have a stock made for one of these. Not sure if they're selling the superlight barreled action, I understand it's trimmed down from the standard model 1500?

Any chance someone could get us a weight on the stock? Easy to knock a lot of ounces off a plastic stock, especially if it has the typical 4oz recoil pad.

Ipdate* cabin fever took hold and I loaded up some loads for these guns.

Nosler 140 grains ballistic tip hunting bullets
IMR 4064 (41 grains)

With that load both rifles (long & short barrels) shot pretty good groups at 100 yards.
