Howa Mini Rifles, Builds, and Upgrades

Kimber 84M is the same way. I actually bought two sets to get the offset correct on mine. One will need to be re-drilled.
I apologize if it’s already been said but I marked the angle I wanted and stuck mine to a bench grinder. Done a little at a time until I got it like I wanted. I couldn’t take the overhang even though I knew it wasn’t bothering anything but me. Still has plenty of meat and looks better to me.

5/8”.24 isn’t a deal breaker. I can order a 1/2-28 base for the Scythe or like you said just get a thread adapter.
Does anyone know the diameter at 18” on the 22” sporter?
Thats what I done. The 1/2x28 base. That’s what I’ve done with the scythe and nomad ti both since they come 5/8. The evos were handy coming with both plates.

Able to post a picture?

Ha after taking a picture of it I can see where the next one can be improved upon. Didn’t pay much attention to it until now. You could go at a little harder angle but either way I like it better than before. If I could order them I’d have it stopped flush and have the ring part slid back. That would give me better ring spacing too. The Talley’s I replaced are more like that

Yep. If made to a "wish list", both front and rear would be reversible with no port overhang to give more flexibility in spacing.

I've used DNZ Game Reaper 2's (2 piece, 4 screw) bases and reversed them to max ring spacing on the Mini. I had to file a touch for clearance on bolt lift but with the SWFA 3-9 it was wide spacing, light weight, low mounting and the port completely open.

There's an 84m in his picture. But I think you will see a glimpse that it's a 223 which may have a longer rear bridge.

Sorry, I obviously scrolled right past the first picture.

I'm surprised the same action is that much different on a .223 than a 7-08.

223 is about .5" shorter than 7mm08 and they only run in the front of the mag box (they use a spacer).

Picking up my 6arc next week, thanks for the upgrade post. Got my list of upgrades to do, still undecided on the scope. Would you recommend a SWFA 6x or 3-9x? Newer rifle hunter and live in CA so stuck with non lead.

I think it will be personal preference. I like both but prefer the 3-9. The next guy might rather have the 6x. You will not be making a mistake with either one.
