Howa Mini 6 Dasher

Made some more progress 34gr first sign of ejector mark at 2858fps (1st pic the brass) ran up to 34.4gr (2895fps) got a good ejector mark but no signs of priner flattening out.

Had some 90gr tgk 34.4gr of leverevolution got my 3060fps and no pressure signs. Might load up some more to try out for a back up option or option for closer range work. The 90gr tgk and 108eldm both grouped in the same 5" circle at 457yrds.

I’d be careful as you speed up, that’s cooking.

Peterson brass is said to have much less capacity than alpha or Lapua, might be worth exploring if you want to retain some speed.
Good to know Peterson was the only brass I could find in canada. 33.8-34gr was a 7fps difference. So it seems to be the sweet spot. And not seeing any primer signs. But ill keep an eye on it and see if I can't find alpha brass if it in stock ever up here

Lapua is coming too eventually. If you look at cutaways the Peterson has a significantly thicker base.

Fwiw alpha dasher is the most consistent brass I have ever used without a doubt. I have 6 times fired brass that I cannot measure a difference in after sizing with my measuring tools.

I found some alpha brass coming into stock next week. Ill report back once I get it

Did you have your bolt face opened up or are the .473 bolts available for the mini?

You can buy a .450 bushmaster bolt from legacy, so long as it is being shipped to an FFL. Don’t ask me why. 200.00 or so. They have them in stock.

You’re probably close to even money paying to have a 6ARC bolt opened up, versus selling the 6ARC bolt at a loss to move it quickly, and buying the bushmaster bolt.

Can you measure COAL with the 108’s you’re putting 34gr lever under in the Peterson brass?

I want to check my notes but I think I stopped at 33gr with lever as I was getting heavy(beyond the normal Howa mini) bolt lift and ejector marks.

Sorry I’ve been off of this thread for a while - I was in Colorado elk hunting. I really regret not carrying this rifle and getting a ton of in field practice while I was there. I’ve mistake by me.

That said, the focus on the task at hand paid off.

I am cleaning up the man cave and putting away the elk gear, and bringing out the whitetail tote and reloading gear. Hoping to shoot this gun quite a bit over the next few months.

Ill check but base to ogive is 2.819" on the 108s. At 34gr I getting very slight ejector marks but no heavy bolt lift, with my fluted bolt i can still run the bolt with one finger. Ill be doing my 22 arc bolt soon makes it a lot nicer to run.

I did get some alpha brass that im going to rework up the load with the 108s and I just found 95gr tmks in canada to play with in addition to the 93gr copper rose

Not disputing, looking for a solution…

I contacted Legacy via phone a month ago, asking for availability of 450 legend bolt. The person I spoke to said they have not been available for quite a while, and no likelihood of being available again.

Is there a person / department that you are aware of that may be a via resource to getting said .473 Bolt?
Thanks,
