Dang that looks like a good deal. If you get one, please report back. I’m curious how it shoots for you.

With the “march125” promo code this comes out to $683 shipped.

Any better deals out there for a CF barreled action? I already have a 6.5 prc but this is mighty tempting

I'd order a Peak Forty-Four stock for that. You'd have a great back packing rifle for the money.

Heck yes. Weatherby had them out at WHCE and I think they were 21oz or so; I'd order one if I had the need and they weren't triple what I paid for our two Stocky's.

I did see in the Q&A on Brownells, somebody says Oregon Mountain Rifle makes the barrels.

I have one on a Christensen Ridgeline 308. I really love that rifle. As far as the barrel goes, i'm not sure if that is accurate or not. I did have Lee at OMR turn my savage barrel down and wrap it a few years ago. That rifle shoots amazingly well.

Good look! I picked one up. Looks like sticky’s VG2 is another stock option.

I was interested until I saw OMR was involved. That place is a joke.

Has anybody received these and put them on a scale? I’m curious what the actual weight is.
Those Howa actions aren't the lightest but they are pretty reliable and accurate. I'd guess a few ounces more than 2# for the action and that carbon barrel at 24" with that contour should be about 2 lbs. 8 oz. So I would expect around 4 lbs. 10-12 oz. for the barreled action on the carbon one.

The owner of OMR is a major tool and has turned out some questionable work. Do a search on OMR and you will see some not so favorable reviews and interactions

Why do you say that? I have a 280ai built by OMR on a m700 action I had and it’s a tack driver. Just curious

Owner was low key arrogant and insistent that he had not made an error, which he did and I had the photographs to prove. It was a small matter and I got my money back, but I figured out what kind of person he is and would never spend a dime there again.

I spoke directly with Howa regarding the barrel manufacturer and contour. It is not OMR. This is from Howa:

“Jay ~ Good morning, I hope all is well. Howa Carbon Fiber Barreled Actions are True Carbon Fiber Done by Howa in Japan. It was the only way we will honor the lifetime warranty.

Howa Carbon Fiber Contour is a HB #6 Contour”
