How would the T3 compare to today's line up?

I own a DT3. Was the 1st Kifaru pack bag I purchased. I used it a handful of times. Never to pack critters. Just overnights. Purchased a DT2 after. Have packed critters in that bag.

Since that other guy signed on with Kifaru and new packs and bags are introduced every 16 days...the lineup has changed tremendously over the past few years.

I am currently swooning over a 14'r for an All Around photography, scouting, airline travel, exploration pack. But I always wondered about the Timberline series and it seemed that the 3 got little to no love.....yet I never see them for sale.

I can google, but this was about a 3000ci internal frame pack configured just like the DT series (layout) with two center pockets running down the back, correct?

I do know the top opening it tight and not terribly Quarter Friendly. But that was never really the goal of the pack in my opinion. Reading the post below (or above) RE: T3 and only Ryan and Ross seeming to have any positive feedback....or "love" for the pack....was this the bastard pack of the Timberline series?

Any reason I don't see them for sale? As in....not many ever purchased them originally? Or they are such coveted packs that nobody is willing to cough theirs up?

What were the major differences in the T3 vs say...the Late Season? The 14'r?

I loaded my T3 last night with everything needed for camp, minus food. It rode well, and I can see how it might be small for some guys' expeditions but for me will work well. I then strapped a 45lb plate to it to see how it behaved and seemed fine, although not loaded ideally. Keep in mind that the 45 was strapped on in addition to my entire camp and hunting gear. For a packout, I would definitely drop the camp items and take only the minimal required gear.
