I know these pack debates can go on forever. I already own a Kifaru bikini frame and both DT 2 and DT 3 bags.

I borrowed and ran an Express for a few years. Man....I really loved that pack. I had to do some timed rucks with it for work. 35 pounds over elevation for time. Pack was a champ. Miss it dearly.

Now after adding some belt pouches and some modularity to the DT bags....I have some modularity and expansion to add to any pack. Or almost any pack.

I am pretty sure the 14'r is the No Brainer choice for me. But the Tarryall is in contention. But Im a cheap bastard. Where does the extra $110 or so go from the 14'r to the Tarryall? The extra 900ci? The extra sewing on the back pocket and the zipper?

And from what videos I watched and looking over the packs....the Tarryall was intentionally designed to be "clean" with no options to run belt pouches or spotter pockets on the exterior. Correct?

Why not just use the DT2 or the DT3 instead of spending money on another pack system? I have no idea what you are planning on using them for, but I am not sure that timberline series from kifaru can be beat, but that is just my opinion. If I were to buy a kifaru pack, it'd be from the timberline series and I feel that it can probably do just about anything I would need it to do.

Yep, Tarryall was designed to be "clean" with no add ons except belt pouches on the belt itself. Look at the extra sewing the Tarryall requires vs the more simple cylinder with straight zipper and pals matrix tabs for add ons. Tarryall is gonna take more time and effort to crank out vs the less detailed 14'r. You'll kind of need to decide if you want built in pockets and a few extra ci's in the Tarryall or less factory ci's and the ability to add customized pockets (ci's) in the 14'er.

This ^^

For me, the tarryall wins for that size and built in suspension. I like the pocket layout for what I'd be using it for (camera/digiscope, day pack) and extra pockets really aren't needed. Kinda depends what your wanting to do with it, and how you like to run you gear. For me it'd be worth the extra cash, when you look at adding pockets to both sides of the 14r that price difference gets a little tighter.

Airline carryon with wait belt removed...day pack with spotter and Supertarp. Spotting scope. Digiscoping. And all Around pack to knock around in . When a Camelback doesn't hold quite enough gear. And the 26" frame and bag combo just seems to flop, dangle and get in the way, even with keepers on all the straps....just doesn't seem to compress down enough. For that.
