Is the pain constant (at rest) or during/after strenuous activity?
Pain that is constant may point to a more structural issue than just inflammation.
Pain after activity could be pointing to a strength deficiency that physical therapy or targeted exercise could help alleviate.
If you haven't sought a physician's input or a physical therapist, I would highly recommend it. Physical therapy is fairly cheap and covered by most insurances (they rather pay for that than surgery).

I'd also look at everything people already said.
I am terrible at taking my own advice though and tend to grunt through it.
It occurs during and after activity. I did get a trainer and his specialty is rehab so will continue working with him. I just can’t say enough about the frat advice everyone is providing here. Thank you.

CBD. its great for inflammation. i have bad knees and a bad right hip. I am 60. I use an alcohol tincture and add it to my water bottles so I am drinking low doses of it all day long. My pain level has gone from an 7 to a 2-3.
I grow my own medical hemp and make my own tinctures and salves. Salves are great as well. Use them when you just plain over did things.

This thread has some great suggestions so I took the time to consolidate them all into this post. Personally, this is a big deal to me because it can extend my hunting seasons for a few more years. Not to mention living with pain is no way to live. For additional commentary, you can read from the beginning. Thanks to everyone for their help and input on this.
