How to make a shelf for pack?

I'd like to add a meat/freighter shelf to my Camptrails external frame pack. I just use the frame for packing out quarters but it does not have the shelf. Before I start cobbling stuff I figured I'd ask.
Any ideas on a good way to duplicate the factory shelf or an alternative?

Have you looked at the Exo Load Crib? It might work on a CT frame. Buckles may need to be replaced with ITW Fastex hardware and some webbing to attach them to the frame, but it's probably doable.

Could you post a pic? I'm not familiar enough with that frame pack to make any recommendations.

Perhaps a shelf for a alice pack would work. I am a cheap bastard when it comes to things like this and currently use a alice pack frame with a shelf, works just fine. and does not cost a arm and a leg. You can even put a sticker from one of the more epensive brands on it to impress your buddies.
