How to level rifle before leveling scope

I'm asking.

I have a Tikka T3X

(if there's a thread covering this -yes I searched- please point me there)

I put the rifle in a vise (or anything that will hold it without moving) and use a bubble level on top of the action in both directions. I then mount the scope using the same level on top of the turret.

Super simple and have never had an issue this way.

I used one of these and decided that was my reference for the rifle.

Take the mag out and unscrew front swivel stud. Then lay it on a flat granite counter top. Use a bubble level when installing scope and torquing rings.

I’ve used a vise. That works. I’ve also used a sled or cleaning station and painters tape to hold it once it’s level.

The cheat code is a UM level or UM rings with the level built in. Or some sort of base level.

No need. Just mount the scope square to the receiver.
