I have a Barney's freighter frame, and I think that its not fitted correctly. I can throw 50 pounds on it and go hike and it just seems to hurt a little more than it should. I got to looking at it and it seems to be pretty adjustable, thing is I don't really know what is right and what is wrong. How tight should the shoulder straps be, how much of the weight should I feel? What are "the rules of carrying weight" Is there anything out there that would help me get a better grip on how packs should be fitted so maybe I can find out if I am doing something wrong? Or maybe I'm just a puss! Thanks

In what way is it not comfortable? I had a time getting mine set up and I still mess with it from time to time. I talked to a guide buddy who only used Barney's frames religiously and he said most people wear their belt too high on the pack and the pack rides too low. He even drills holes in his to move his attachment points lower and move the frame higher.

I cant quite put my finger on it exactly. It feels fine at first, then after awhile it just hurts most of my upper torso, shoulders, back, traps. So it really seems to me its just how I have it adjusted. Sounds to me like it is sitting two low and I am carrying too much on my shoulders, based on that EXO link. I am going to re asses and I will get back!

Call Kevin at barneys and he will get you squared away as to how it should fit...
