How much did Remi Warren get paid for the 7 backcountry?!?!?!

Years ago youtube and social media was a great place to get information from people who generally werent posting what they wete from money. The transistion from honest product reviews to endorsement deals as advertisement peddled as a review was gradual, id argue.

In the last 15 years - it seems like it went from a minority of channels who were driven by a products marketing to a majority. The transition accelerated to warp speed around covid. Some of the original credibility still somehow exists - so people tune in.

Interestingly - i feel like less and less are tuning in and discovering they are skipping ads to watch another ad. You can see/read it on forums or social media, but also hear it in conversation. People are sick of getting an opinion or experience thats bought and paid for to sell something as a top/first/only priority.

Someday i do hope the influencer market slows down or reverses course. Its damaged a lot more than product reviews and western hunting. Nearly every hobby (especially outdoors) has the same issue with influencers.

You control the buttons. Stop watching and listening to people pissing on you telling you its raining.

It's a toss-up to whether he was paid more to pump up the expo tags or the 7backcountry.

Sigh....Only so much time in the day and only so many don't give a F^(ks.
As much as I used to like that guy he can take a long walk off a short pier with the rest of the “influencer” mafia… who are actively ruining our ability to hunt…

I don't understand the purpose of the post. I assume most of us know that the online video people have sponsors.

I think 7mm Backcountry is a good idea. Do I need one? Nope.

I broke down and watched Hanes an a recent podcast where he discusses his move to sitka and other sponsor stuff. Pretty straight forward; to paraphrase "this is now a business and I have employees, so my decisions are based on that as long as the product is something I use". Doesn't bother me.

I really like listening to Remi but definitely am mindful of all the stuff he promotes. It can get a little absurd at times, but then again I shoot a .30-06. If everyone was a fudd like me there’d be no money in podcasts.
