How much cooler space needed for Elk

We use 2x 120 Qt Coolers. It helps to debone the fronts, they are super long if you don't.

This is for bone-in hinds and bone-in fronts of smaller bulls, bone-in hinds and bone-out fronts of bigger bulls.

good video by Corey Jacobson. Randy Newberg or Fresh Tracks also have a few good videos. Lots of options for boned out/processed/whole quarters. My friend and I took a cheaper igloo the largest size probably 150 quart. I then brought by yeti 65 and Igloo Sportsman 55 for Ice only (blocks and loose). The high quality coolers will keep your ice for the whole hunt. We decided if we shot 1 elk between the 2 of us we were probably done hunting due to our timeframe to hunt, so we could focus on deboning the meat to fit in the large cheap cooler, then use the ice from the Yeti. Plus after removing the ice we'd have extra room in the nice coolers for any meat that didn't fit.

Last year we fit an entire boned out elk and the cape in one 150 quart cooler. If you leave bone in they take up a lot more room.
