How many rounds do you shoot per month?

Counting only centerfire rifle, I put 100-150. Its less from sept-dec, and generally more feb-august. But I also shoot rimfire specifically as practice, so while it doesnt count for the poll it counts to me and it definitely counts toward proficiency.

Yearly average, right around 300 a month last few years for centerfire. Less in winter, more in summer. If you put handgun and rimfire in the mix, it would be around 1000 a month. Lucky to be able to walk out of the basement and have a 500 yard range to shoot at.

If I had to go to a public range I wouldn't shoot NEAR as much. I can shoot out to 800 yards on one ranch that's 15 minutes from my house and out to 1 mile at another ranch 20 minutes from my house.

400 to 500 a weekend,between 308 and 223. Mostly 223. Maybe 100- 45 ACP a week.

what is your monthly expense firing 500 rounds a month?? Or are we talking 223 rounds?

We don't talk about those things in my household haha

Seriously though I don't worry about it. I handload everything so I tell myself that helps. But I know it doesn't. It's what I love to do so I don't put a price on it. Just like hunting.

I agree that rimfire counts towards proficiency in a lot of aspects, but reason I didn't include it is because of the recoil.

Sure, thats fair, and depending on what people are shooting can be a big deal. I only mention it bc its obviously great training for almost every aspect of marksmanship other than recoil—trigger control, breathing, positional stability, manipulating the gun and scope, as well as estimating wind, ranging in field conditions, etc are all easily and cheaply accomplished shooting a 22. For those of us without access to a longer range its about the only way to practice longer-range manipulation and process.

Depends on the time of year for me... winter i might only get out 1 time a month and shoot 50-100. During hunting season I am hunting. Spring and summer are where I shoot the most. May shoot 2 competitions in a month and a day of practice in between which could total 500 rounds in a 1 month period.

150-200 a month. Used to me about 3 times that, but I moved and now it’s a little more of a project to get to the range. It’s a pretty boring range, too so I’m not sure I’d use it more even if it was closer. Flat and only 300 yards.

Well I used to be able to shoot during nap time, suppressors meant I got an hour or so to shoot. Nap time is over and I’m chasing a toddler around most days so not as much as I’d like.

Winter normally sub 100 a month.

Summer I shoot quite a bit but it’s mostly at matches and varies greatly on how matches and my work schedule line up.

If I average it out I’m in that 50-150 range. Some months I don’t shoot and others I shoot 5-6 times and 20-50+ shots each session.

I’ve recently fallen back in love with lever actions so I’m more motivated to make shooting time right now.
