Curious how much the average rokslider/hunter shoots on a monthly/yearly basis.

This is purely center-fire rifles. No rimfire or handgun included.

Posted in the long range forum, as long range shooters typically shoot more.

You can average your numbers from the year total if need be.

Average for a year on rifles (including Plinking and Rock Chucks) is probably right around 2K... Just my regular hunting rifles probably only 350....
When I was active in competition shooting (USPSA, 3gun) total round count was toward 20K a year for several years and that was based on a log book of every practice session and matches.

My goal is a box of reloads (50) every weekend. I’ve been pretty decent with that thus far with a couple of crappy weekends as exceptions.

25 center fire off season. 4 or 5 during hunting season per month. Most off season is 22k hornet and 220 swift.

Do shoot a ton of rimfire. Cheap and fun to shoot.

Nice poll, I'm, interested in the results. Im in the 1500-2000/yr group, but most of that is in the summer/fall. I definitely wish I had time/$ for more.

For the guys with 500+, are you shooting at a home range or traveling to a range Everytime?

I'm in the 3-500 monthly, but that's only because I have a range at home now. Before that I was significantly lower due to needing to go to a public range Everytime.

F*** public ranges.

Steel shootable from over 1,000 yards onsite.

Agreed on public ranges.

Depending on the time of year or what's going on in life, it's daily or every other day, 10-20 rounds centerfire rifle, 10-20 rounds pistol, 30 rounds rimfire. This is on public land about 15 mins from my house, up against a mountain.

probably around 300/month this time of year. 150ish month July through hunting season. Varies quite a bit year to year though.

Would be a lot more if I could shoot at home!

Both. I have 50-100-200-300 off the front porch. I go 45 mins away to shoot 300-839 but it's a club where members generally also have an aversion to public ranges and the environment is self-policed with safety focus.
